What is your return policy?Back to top

My main aim in all the work I do is to make my customers happy, it is very important to me. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please let me know. Return the goods within 7 days of receipt and I will give you a full refund.

Are the lampwork bead sets in This Week's Beads section 'one-of'?Back to top

When I first introduced this section the sets were 'one-of'' but many sold so quickly and I frequently received emails from disappointed customers having missed out on the set they were hoping to buy. I decided disappointment wasn't what I wanted my customers to feel, so I now leave sold lampwork bead sets up for that week or until my next update, and in that time they can be purchased and I will remake the set.

What are the shipping costs?Back to top

Australian customers pay AU$3.60 and all international customers pay US$4.50 regardless of country.

Can I combine more than one item for the same shipping cost?Back to top

Yes! My shipping costs are a flat rate. For example: A customer from United Kingdom orders 10 sets of beads, the shipping charge will still be US$4.50, I pay the extra shipping cost.

How long does shipping take?Back to top

This varies on how kind the postal service treats us. In Australia the service is quite predictable and depending on where you are, usually 3 days would be the longest to the farthest destination. Overseas parcel generally take between 1 to 2 working weeks.

Are the parcels insured?Back to top

I don't insure the parcels unless requested, but if you require insurance please email for the rates. The parcels are sent air mail.

When will my order be shipped?Back to top

If your order is for a lampwork bead set from 'This Weeks Beads' and have not been sold as yet, they will be sent within the next 2 working days. If the beads are orders I need to make, they are generally made and sent within the week. I will always confirm via email when they are sent.

How many customer showcase's can I enter?Back to top

I am more than happy for you to send me a submission for each showcase. However, if you have been successful in winning 2 showcases in the one year, I will then ask that you wait till the following year for submissions.

Can I have more lampwork beads than the amount showing in a set?Back to top

I am more than happy to make extra lampwork beads for you, and if you would like a matching focal bead I will do my best to accomodate. Just email your request, and I will reply within 24 hours.

Do you have this particular set available in other colours?Back to top

By all means do send me an email if you see something you like but it is not in the colour combination you were hoping for. If I have the glass available in that colour I will definitely help you out there.

I bought a set of lampwork beads from you a while ago, can you make some the same?Back to top

If you have a photo of the beads or you know the item number that will be very helpful. I keep a file of all the 'bead recipes' on record just for this very purpose, once again it just takes an email.

How will I know when you add new lampwork beads to your website?Back to top

You can subscribe to my emails advising of updates. The subscription link is on my home page in a seperate box 2/3rds down the page. But of course I could make it easy for you and put the link here.

What are lampwork beads?Back to top

Lampwork beads are made by melting glass strips or rods on an open flame produced by the use of gas and oxygen to fuel a burner. A stainless steel rod is used as a 'mandrel', the glass is wrapped around the mandrel to form the hole through the bead. The glass is shaped by using various tools and design can be added by many methods. The most popular being stringers which are long very thin strips pulled using tweezers from a blob of molten glass, this is then placed on the beads in many different techniques. Frit is also used widely, this is glass broken and ground into different sizes of glass 'crumbs'. See my bead tutorial for a visual of the process.
