Making Your Own Peyote Patterns

I have just taught myself peyote stitch and found the need to make my own patterns. Easy enough I thought, but firstly I needed a blank peyote graph. After doing a search I found a graph blank at Aunt Molly's Bead Street

I work on a Mac so I have no idea how you place this into Photoshop with a PC, but I just Control click on the image, chose Save to Desktop. I then click and drag the file from the desktop and drop it straight into my Photoshop icon.

Working in Photoshop CS, I select the Paint Bucket tool from the Tool Pallete then from 'Window' in the menu bar choose Swatches, this will bring up the swatches color pallete. With the Paint Bucket tool click the color you wish to work with then click on the spot on the graph where that color should be making sure that the black spout of the paint bucket tool is right on the actual white spot on the graph. Continue this process until your design is complete. Then it is just a matter of 'Save As' and print it out. I'm currently working on a theme of 'Graffiti' so this is one half of my 'hip hop' peyote design.
